hey guys im planning on buying one of overclockers prebuilt overclocked bundles, it comes with i7 930 at 4.2, Patriot Viper (3x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Triple Channel and it gives me the option of either asus rampage 3 extream or Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD7, just wanted some advice on what you good people thought was better!

Looking at the overclocked bundles you can get this bundle with the Corsair H50 cooler for £570 - that's £187 less than the bundle you mention (with the UD7).

Admittedly, this bundle is 4GHz, not 4.2Ghz - but this is less than 5% slower.

Don't get me wrong, the UD7 and Rampage III boards are excellent, but they are designed for heavily overclocked, watercooled systems. The much cheaper UD3R and P6X58D-E boards are ideal for air cooled systems as under these circumstances the overclocking is not limited by the motherboard but the cooling of the CPU.
