hi all i have been given a starter pc for my son and would only like to spend around 100 on it to keep it going for around 2 years, up to speed or nearest dam it,
at the mo its a old K9AG Neo2-Digital motherboardhttp://uk.msi.com/product/mb/K9AG-Neo2-Digital.html#/?div=CPUSupport

running win 7, amd athlon 64*2 4800+ 2.5 ghz with 5gb ram

just wanting to know which processor to upgrade too to get the best out of it

any advice much welcome,,, sorry if this is the wrong section for the post but its my first and will not be my last,,,cheers wez
 
cheers for the reply, really the system is going to be used for the likes of playing counterstrike, and a couple of the source mods,, i think his graphics card is ok for it its a zotac gts2505 512mb,, so really want a cpu to cope,,, but to last the pc out, dont mind paying that bit extra for a decent cpu, if i can squeeze that bit of power/life out of mb to keep it running for the longest i can before building a decent one if this counterstrike/halflife phase continues with him
