Which Open Back Gaming Headset?

Hello chaps,

I recently purchased a HyperX Cloud II gaming headset. The quality was great, but I have returned them because I hated the fact I could barely hear myself talk and felt like I was shouting at my team mates.

I think I'd be better off with a headset that is open back.

Can anyone recommend a pair? Nothing overly expensive and nothing garish with daft colours all over, my HyperX were gunmetal.

I'd seen the CORSAIR HS50's. They 'look' open back with mesh on the ear cups but can't seem to find anything that says for certain.

So any help or pointers would be appreciated.

2. does it have to be a headset not headphones + a modmic?

Up to around £80ish. I've not looked into these ModMic's but get the general idea.

An all in one would be preferable, I'm not an audiophile, I just want something that does it's job for gaming...without making me feel like I'm deaf.

yeh modmic is little out of your budget anyway.

Ive used a bunch of gaming sets, always found sennhesier to be better ones, (probably due to their background) but also corsair voids have had loads of good press, not sure of their audio quality.

i know hardwarecanucks video did a quick run down of the most common headsets maybe watch that see from your impressions?

Also Takstar made QPAD QH-85 is open headset and should be available for that budget.
(QH-90 is HyperX Cloud in other clothes)
