Ok, basically im buying a cheapish laptop for around £300.. Im wondering which os to use.. Should I definitely get windows 7 with it? Or should I get a cheap Ibook G4 and use MAC.. Cheers?
I'd rather have £300 worth of laptop + Win7 than an iBook G4. Unless you're just using it just to word process and web browse, the iBook is pretty much obsolete.
The Spec is really important to know.
What tasks will you likely be performing on this laptop? Might be in the wrong forum to suggest this but if it's just web browsing and you don't mind open office then some kind of linux would possibly run better on a cheap laptop.
I'm running Windows 7 on a Dell inspiron 1520 which I got new for £350 a few years ago, runs great, think I popped in £25 worth of RAM to boost it to 4Gb and haven't looked back since Windows 7 was release. I have all my games on it, great little graphics card built in
I wouldn't opt for the mac at that price, spec wise you'll be able to get a far better second hand non-mac laptop for that price especially in places like the members market.
