Which order to play halo in?

So I have just bought a 360 (mainly for forza lol) and was wondering what order to play halo in?

Considering there is no 2 on the 360 but number 1 has just been re released, last console I had was before the original xbox. I have played a few games on the original tho

Halo Reach has a few nods to the first game, but you wouldn't get it unless you've played the first game!

You can play Halo 2 Xbox on an Xbox 360 just fine.

I'd definitely go the reverse of the last release first.

I'd play them as they were released however you might get away with playing odst before 3.

I've not played Anniversary, but I'm sure you could just play that instead of the original Halo 1.

You can play Halo 2 just fine, the only thing you can't do now is play multiplayer as they switched the servers off.

not all of them you cant, but halo 1 + 2 work perfectly.

Play Halo 1 and stop.

First play reach (as it's the prequel), the remastered version of the first one, then 2, then ODST, then 3, repeat until halo 4 is released, add onto the end, repeat until halo 5 e.t.c (yes I'm addicted to the games)

Really don't do that order. Reach was the last released, it'd be like watching Star Wars for the first time from Episode 1 through to 6.

Play them in the order they came out, switching the first with Anniversary if you really must, but that might steal a bit of the magic away than if you left it until the end as it'll have that "reminding" feeling. Maybe nostalgia is at work there, but still I reckon you should play them in order because, well... that's the order

It really is up to you, weather you want to play reach first or not, I would but it's up to you, there's much dispute about this! I think it's down to personal taste, maybe some people do like to watch star wars from 1-6, I don't but some might

They should always be played in that order.

If you really want to, you can play Anniversary with CE graphics because the framerate is terrible on CE.

I enjoyed ODST also. Halo 2 campaign/multiplayer is still my fav without a doubt!

I loved ODST too, one of the best in the series.

Halo 2 was my least favourite campaign, probably due to the fact I had to do it about 4 times on legendary for the PC version because the achievement wouldn't unlock, needless to say I soon got fed up of it.
