Which out of these 2 cards is best

As thread says after a new sound card which will give me best results, will be used mostly for gaming and with headphones for gaming i got it down too these 2

Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Music - Retail

Creative Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Sound Card

They both roughly the same price just not sure which to get out of the two.

Well the Xi-Fi have been having problems with crackling, I recieve mine today hopefully so will test it out, I've had the Audigy 2 ZS for about 2 years with no problems whatsoever - only reason I went for the Xi-Fi is because its supposed to be better quality sound etc & seen as I upgraded my speakers I upgraded the soundcard also. IF you do get crackling with the Xi Fi you can always send it back via the distance selling act.

The X-Fi is the better card, although you do get extra hardware with the A2ZS Platinum... I'd go X-Fi in your place.

(Then again, I've not encountered X-Fi related problem)

X-Fi wins hands down. Have used both types and gotta say I didn't think it would be half as impressive over the Audigy but was pleasantly surprised

It really made a difference for me.

I have a creative mega works system with digital input, been doing some research but i cant see if the x-fi takes digital input can anyone help.

Not in 5.1 as far as I know. But you are better off using the analogue input anyway. DAC built into MM speakers aren't necessarily superior to sound card DAC. And though the X-Fi is not considered high end by any mean, it should be competitive (at least) with MM speaker DAC. So I suggest X-Fi, but use analogue line-out.
