Which paste for a 2400G and method of Applying

Arctic MX thermal paste is fine. The size of 2 conjoined peas....lol. Generally "less is more" when it comes to thermal paste I say.

I use Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut on everything as it's one of the best pastes you can buy. AC's MX-4 isn't far behind though and it's much easier to work with as Kryonaut is rather thick while MX-4 is much thinner. I have always spread the paste on my cpu's/gpu's and motherboard chipsets and it's always worked well for me.
Will you be using the stock Wraith Stealth cooler that's included in the box? This cooler has pre-applied thermal paste, which should work well enough for the 2400G.
This is a second hand part and i will be using stock cooler for the time being so cooler needs re pasting.
The usual suspects mentioned above (MX-4, Kryonaut) would be totally fine.
Regarding the application method, I've been using a small pea sized blob in the middle. But I've seen a number of reputable tech youtubers use the spread method and their cooling results have been fine too, so just pick whichever really.
I think that when using the pea method, I'm probably inclined to use slightly too much paste and that I'd probably end up using a bit less paste if I'd had spread it thinly across the IHS before attaching the CPU cooler.
