Hi guys,

Temps have started to creep up on my i5 2500k now it's at 4ghz so I was thinking of redoing / reseating the cooler. Is there much difference in the article silver cermaquie stuff compared to the original?

It hasn't been changed since these chips were new.

Edit :- Reading reviews people tend to say AS5 so I'll go with that.

Cheers

Stulid's testing was done without monitoring the baseline temperature .. and without the baseline temperature being monitored the results have no reference point in common.

IC diamond 7 or 24 love the stuff myself small blob in the middle on cpu and gpu job done.

It's better than AS5 and Mx2/3 but not by much there's barely 1-2c between most of them I have tubes of both as for the others no idea as haven't used them.

If you end up getting arctic silver 5 get this https://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=AC-000-AC&groupid=701&catid=27 not ceramique and btw it's conductive so be careful not to get any on motherboard or cpu pins etc.

I still like the Gelid as per my testing but its only available here in a larger tub now.

There is also a new paste called Thermal Grizzly which will be in stock soon.

them.

It being conductive is a myth, it says its not conductive here at OcUk and at the homepage.

I thought the silver in it made it conductive ?

It says non conductive at the website,

actually it does say capacitative,

Not Electrically Conductive:
Arctic Silver 5 was formulated to conduct heat, not electricity.
(While much safer than electrically conductive silver and copper greases, Arctic Silver 5 should be kept away from electrical traces, pins, and leads. While it is not electrically conductive, the compound is very slightly capacitive and could potentially cause problems if it bridges two close-proximity electrical paths.)
