Morning all after some advice. Just looking around for a easy to use Media player i was recently using MusicBee which was great but had few little problems with it. And plus just got my Audeze LCD2-C cans. MusicBee doesn't let you install VST plugins only Winamp so i couldn't install the Audeze reveal plugin so i moved to Jriver which allows me to use VST plugins and plus maybe less buggy for me but i keep on seeing people that use Foobar and its free. And then i see people using Roon which is suppose to work well with Tidal which i also use. Whats everybody else using is Jriver worth paying for then any of the free one's?. Do any of them sound better?

I use JRiver now, though I used MusicBee for a long time. I do think it sounds slightly better as I could never get WASAPI event mode working in MusicBee without lots of distortion. I also prefer the file and tag management of JRiver and it's cover art retrieval is second to none.

There is a 3rd party plugin for MusicBee (HERE), that allows you to install VST plugins, though some work better than others. Personally I don't use any plugins as they force the use of the Windows mixer, which negates any benefit of WASAPI.
