My system is as sig below. I have just moved my 8800gt to the lower pci slot in order to try and give better airflow around cpu/fsb. This has worked nicely and helped drop temps a little. Thing is i have just done a quick 3dmark 07 bench and score has dropped from 12500 ish to 8500? Nothing has changed only the pci slot used. I thought the slots where the same? Is this not the case? Have i done something wrong?:confused:
 
I think the 2nd PCI-E slot runs at 4x and not 16x.

You may need to keep the card the first slot, and perhaps add a small fan. :)
