do I use the cpu fan slot or system fan slot bearing in mind I will be using the fan controller that comes with it? Thank you :)

If you mean which fan header it shouldn't make any difference at all unless the motherboard lowers the speed on the Cpu header fan when the proc is cold, which i think a lot of intel boards do unless you turn something off in bios (i think its called cool and quiet). This is bad because it means the fan wont get enough juice and you wont have proper control of it.

So just stick it on the system fan header and you'll be fine.

Think you meant SpeedStep, Cool n Quiet is the AMD version afaik.

Why not just put it on the CPU header without the fan controller and let the mobo look after it? I ask as as I'm about to buy a Tuniq Tower and that's what I've always done with every other cooler I've used.

Thinking about it, it's probably a good idea to use the CPU header anyway but disable fan control on it in the BIOS if you're using the controller. Some mobos can get upset when there's no fan on the CPU header and refuse to boot.

For me the reason for using a fan controller was so that i can set it to just below audiable and if i put it on the motherborad it would choose another voltage which wouldnt be the best. I know my motherboard dosent mind but i guess other might if there nothing on the cpu header, but im pretty sure that it can be changed in most MBs bios. Ultimaltly I guess it dosent matter which you use if you change a couple of bios settings.

Plug it into the CPU Fan header, as its attatched to the CPU. Turn off speedstep, the fan control - set to manual or off, and plug in the pci bracket to the tuniq fan. That will let you do whatever you like to the fan speed.
