Which platform/CPU should I get?

I'm noticing a lot of bottleneck with my 2500k with a 1080 ti.

I toyed with getting a 3770k, but have decided to full upgrade.

I would like to get something for hopefully under £500 and do a high overclock.

Could you advise which platform/CPU to go for?

I will look into a Rysen... I see the 1600 6 core version is out soon.

I might just get a 7700k though..
