Hi,

Getting into Pool a lot now at Uni. Looking at buying my own cue, had a website recommended to me and looking round it there seems to be some good deals going.

Is there a point for going for a graphite cue or stay with the classic wood/ash?

Here they are though.

Graphite

Other Graphite

Jimmy White BCE

Ronnie O'Sullivan BCE

Marco Fu BCE

Also anyone know of a Pool forum?

Personally I'd avoid graphite, I like the look of that Jimmy White one but unfortunately a cue is something you need to hold to know if it's right.

Edit: there must be a decent sport shop in Loughbrough, get down and try a few out.

Ahh not in Loughborough right now, Coventry right now. But yeah I will have to have a nose round, also I will have a look at what the pool place I goto sell in that budget. I suppose sport shops should sell the same ones?

I won't bother with a graphite, just noticed it on that site.

Hey baby, mines always long when you're round. ;)

Edit - I know I like 57" cues, fits perfectly with my hand at the end of it. I know Ilike ~9mm cue tips, though I'm going to JJB Sports later.

reminds me i need to buy another tip for my cue

-i really can't stand it when shops like this use out of proportion images, looks so un professional -my old newseletter in work would come out looking like that, and they'd go to the trouble of mailing it to 350 people! -so i refused to look at all the really fat or really skinny people

Are you playing English eight ball, or American pool?

Because with English eight ball, I find a decent snooker cue to be better... whereas with American pool on an american table (eight ball or nine ball) you'll need a weightier cue with a larger tip size.
