Hi,

It has been a while since I did a home build, 6-7 years, maybe more I cant remember exactly but my current PC is as my sig minus the 6800 as it died earlier this year.

I have specced myself up a new PC but I'm a little unsure as to what power PSU I'll need. Spec is as follows:

i7 930 2.8Ghz - plan to overclock to 4.0 - 4.2
Asus Rampage II extreme mobo
MSI GTX480
6gb Corsair Tri channel DDR3 1600mhz ram

I'm thinking a Corsair TX 750 will be OK but do I want to stear clear of the TX range and go for the HX range?

Helps appreciated!

Cheers

I have a corsair HX 620w modular in my current PC. Do you think that would be OK as I dont plan to SLI anytime soon, if at all as I dont think I'll need to.

Cheers

Thanks for the replies. The Titan Goliath MKII which I based my system on only uses a Corsair extreme 600w so I was thinking my 620 would suffice. Just to hit the purchase button now :D

+1 Corsair HX620 should be fine. If you're worried that you are overloading it, spend £5 on a cheapo plugin watt-meter. I'd be surprised if you top 550W from the wall (allowing for 80% efficiency that's approx 440W load on the PSU).
