which power supply unit?

want a decent psu 520W plus, As my Hiper Type R 580W has died, it's about a year old, so not impressed for the money.

Is there any other decent moduler high perfomance psu out there. Also quiter the better.

lots will recomend the enermax liberty 620w but i dont like how it has sata and molex connectors on the same power line

I have a liberty and have to agree on that, the connectors are a pain in the butt, but most, including mine, sata hdd's have both style power connectors, so you don't have use just the sata connectors.

If i was going to choose another PSU it would be a seasonic, but Enermax offer a modular design, and regardless of the cable issue mentioned its still a cracking PSU and its definately more tidy and better for airflow.

I'd highly recommend any of the Seasonic or Tagan PSUs.

I actually like its connector, i don't have any Sata powered devices, only Molex and using the Liberty i am using less cables than i was with the Hiper. Thats 3HDs, 2 Optical, X800XTPE, floppy, and a fan.

Look at the Enermax Liberty or Seasonic S12 range. I have the former and it's great.

Tagan have been great for me. Seasonic are also very highly regarded.

This is what persuaded me to get the tagan, as it meant having more wires than i needed.

Tagan 530W - rock solid rails and not one bit of hassle since i bought it.
