What power supply do I need? I would prefer a quietish supply.
At some point in the next 9 months I will buy new motherboard/processor/operating system/memory/(case?) and swap over the other components. In the meantime I am thinking I should upgrade powersupply in order to cope with my new graphics. (If it matters then I may well experiment with overclocking too). Current system:
Power: 500W Jeantech
Mainboard: GA_965P_DS3P
Processor: E6320
Cooling: Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro CPU Cooler
Graphics: HIS HD 7850 IceQ X 2048MB GDDR5 (H785QN2G2M) on order
Memory: 2Gb Crucial Ballistix
HardDrives: 500Gb,
250Gb Samsung SpinPoint P 250GB SATA-II 8MB Cache
WD Caviar Green 2Tb SATA-600 64MB 3.5
SSD: OCZ Vertex 2E 120GB 2.5" SATA-II Solid State Hard Drive (OCZSSD2-2VTXE120G)
Operating system: Win8 release preview (Vista Home Premium OEM available)
My son's rig uses a XFX 650W XXX Edition Modular '80 Plus Bronze' Power Supply so if there is nothing in it then there could be some minor benefits if the cables are interchageable?
