I'm currently putting together a basket for a new computer but I can't decide on which power supply. I'm getting a 5800x and a 6700xt. The system will have no RGB apart from the RGB memory and an air cooler so no need to run an AIO.

i was thinking of getting a corsair RM750 full modular but my question is could I use a 600 or 650 and does it need to be modular?

would it be cheaper to get a wired power supply?

Someone with more experience will advise you on a good recommendation. I will say though don cheap out in a PSU get a modular one as well make life so much easier especially if you need to change a damaged cable or need a longer one.

Gold rated PSU as a minum I would say as well.

Do you know if modular PSU's come with cables or do I have to buy the set separately.
Yes, of course they come with the cables.
Manufacturers use different cables so they wouldn't be compatible with other brands anyhow.
The only reason you might have seen cables for sale on their own is because for some supplies you can buy custom ones with different colours, braiding etc

Get the 650W version, my PC is a bit more power hungry than that and my PSU is a 650W with very simular Specs ( 80 plus Gold )

AMD Recommend a 650W PSU for the 6700xt. If you want more power headroom for future graphics card upgrades then the 750W. Difference in price between the RM650 & 750 on OCUK right now is 12 quid so its up to you to decide whether spending the extra money will be of any benefit to you in the future.

Thanks guys for clearing it up for me. Yea the reason I was asking about cables is that I saw cable sets for sale so I thought they were separate. I can now take them out the basket and save myself 50 quid haha
