Right I bought a Lexmark x1180 from the No swearing! computer shop we've all grown to hate No competitor talk please!.
Looked a bargain, scanner printer and photocpier all for like £45 i think it was.
Anyways my ink ran out, went to cartridge world up get refilled, guy says he cant because they put some kind of chemical in so that it blocks it from filling up when ink runs out? I dont think he was lying as he said I need to buy new but he didnt have any in the shop so he coudlnt help me.
So what im wanting to know is if there is any ink cartridges out there that can fit this and can be filled at a later date?
If not which printer should I buy that I can fill the cartridges whenever I want for as cheap as possible please.

Just buy your own ink refill kits.

I do know some printer manufacturers use filtered ink in their cartridges, so they don't block up so easily. The ink you buy from Cartridge World is proably not so well filtered.

As for which printer - Canon Pixma iP4200 all the way. I'm afraid it doesn't have a scanner built in, though.

You'd be better off buying a printer and scanner seperately. If you're going to buy a new printer, you'll have already twigged that you've got one bulky scanner, and the printer is expensive and unreliable. ;)
