I need to build a machine which will mainly be used for photograph editing and office use.

I'll be looking to get a MB and 2gb Ram kit also.

not interested in gaming abilities on this one.....

any ideas?

no real set budget just nothing silly prices. I've often based my general pc building on the price jump theory. There's always a larger price jump along the speed scale of processors and i go for that kind of level.

Its been a while since i bought a new machine and am not sure which is better value/performance nowadays.....Pentium or AMD?

Just want to make it a system which will last a year without needing an upgrade.

Overclocking isn't an option, so can't really buy slower (but maybe better clocking) kit which is good at clocking.
