Which programming course to go for?! Java or Visual Basic?

I need to choose my next course for my degree.

either:
Designing applications with Visual Basic

or

Object-oriented programming with Java


Which one is more future proof, least boring and or easier?!

So far all I've done is javascript (boring as hell to me)

I just want an easy ride really as i do not want to be a programmer.

It's computing & Design.

All IT degrees I looked into have some sort of basic programming modules as part of them.

And as stated before I find programming very boring. So an easy ride would be the better option for me.
