Looking for advice and experience. I am moving back to the UK for the autumn and need to install some internet. I don't actually need much, 50mbps will be absolutely fine. I have the option of fibre from both BT and Virgin (no phone line), or I can get a phone line (at additional cost) and go with one of the others - PlusNet, talk talk etc.

Is there any advice or experience I can draw on? BT seems to be the cheapest at 27 a month, and Virgin is 44 for (apparently) the same speeds....

I will need installation whatever as the apartment has just undergone full renovation.

If 50Mb is all you need then a basic FTTC from BT/PlusNet/Sky/TalkTalk is pretty much at the ideal price point. No point paying VM more for a basic Cable connection. VM comes into its own when you want faster speeds than FTTC can provide and your property doesn't have BT FTTP available.
