Which PSU and How to Build a PC

Well, to the point:
I'm buying a PC, I've never built one before, I know the basics though; like how to install a CPU (not the heatsink/spreader/fan ). I usually get a friend to make it but hes just had a kid so I'm pretty messed on that option, so I've decided to build it myself.

I know nothing of PSUs. At all. I could build a PC, its just the power cables and all that malarchy. I was thinking an OCZ ModStream 600W. Around that price range, but pretty decent as I'm getting an 8800GT, Q6600, 2 SATA HDDs, 1 SATA Optical Drive, 5 fans and an Asus WiFi-AP Premium thing.

If you could link me to a GOOD (new) PC building tutorial I would be delighted. And what PSU should I get?

Thanks in advance,
- Saul.

600w seems a bit of an overkill for that possibly a 550w or even a 520w. As for the tutorial the best bet is to read the information that you get with the motherboard, its normally all the info you will need.

Aero

EDIT: Ok sorry my bad. Like semi-pro waster suggested the corsair 520w would be good.

Good lucky on your build let us know how it goes!

I mean't what sort of PSU brands are good and within the same price range of the PSU I referenced in my first post?

This guide has been posted a few times and contains a lot of good information as well as pictures, you could also have a read of the sticky by Ultra_Extreme at the top of this forum.

The OCZ is fine as a PSU, you could also look at the Corsair HX 520w, any Enermax of 450w+ or any Tagan of 450w+. :)
