hi all
I have a sonata2 450w and intened to get a 8800gts but...
ive seen crysis tech demo and wow it looks nice :p and im pretty certain a single gts isnt going to make it looks like that (correct me if im wrong) so im thinking I need something more powerful than a GTS, which unfortunately means I need a better psu.

Anyway the question is what psu should I get. I dont use SLI and never will but I want a psu thats going to be good for two years at least and compatible with forthcoming cpus and gfx cards. I will say that two pcie power connectors is a must as IIRC a 8800gtx uses 2 already??
I dont have much money and I cant justify over 100quid for a psu really.

Any help much appreciated :p

Its pointless investing in products now for something which hasn't been released yet. Wait until its released, then you will know what handles the game. Are you in desperate need for a graphics card? If you need one now then get a GTS 320MB.

520w or 620w corsair HX ;)

also never say never to SLI :p

sounds like you guys like the corsair then :)
I deffo say never to sli im not rich:p

is a 8900 coming out? i know there wer 7900s but im sure there were never any 6900s.
What exactly is directX. I know we been on version 9 for ages and vista has DX10 compatibility but is it a kind of driver, ive never seen exactly sure what DX is.

I think there is a 8900 coming out sometime soon, best checking the graphics card section on the forum for that, DirectX is a utility that enhances the multimedia capabilities on your PC, it manages the 3D graphics playback and other types of multimedia. There aren't any games as far as I'm aware that are written to take advantage of DX10 yet but they are just around the corner!

i looked into the 520w and the 620w corsair and they look ok. right on the bjorn3d review http://www.bjorn3d.com/read.php?cID=945&pageID=2448 it says efficiency at 115v and 230v. Therefore am assuming it has a switch on the back to change from US to UK. Im in the states in the early summer so can I just get it there for considerably cheaper and use it here? :p

if not il get it from OC when I can afford :)
