Where the V12 800D will be swapped for the V12 900D when it arrives soon. So, my question is - shall I stick with the Corsair AX860W or go for the more expensive Corsair AX1200W or 1200i?

Alternatively, if anyone has other suggestions for quality modular PSUs then I'm open to these - for example I've heard that Seasonic have some great PSUs, so it would help if I could hear from you guys about this matter.

Birmingham + this build... You mustn't live near me then! :p

PSU looks good, I have the same one, but if the budget stretches even more then why not go for the 1200W? Future proof for sure.

Hehe, you'd be surprised - I'm going to have to keep this system under lock and key at all times lol.

Anyway, indeed, an extra £70 or so seems trivial compared to the total cost of the system - but I am spending a lot already and I really cannot afford to go too far above what I'm already spending here, so I don't want to be making purchases that aren't really necessary but I do see your point about future proofing with the 1200W... Hmmm... Decisions....

I would have to agree with TheReaperGuy your PSU that you have at the minute should
be fine to power the new system you are going to get.

Unless you are thinking of SLI or anything with yout titan which im assuming your not as
that would be graphical madness lol then it will be fine.

:D Maybe further down the line but definitely not at the moment! Although, by the time I'd consider going for Titan SLI there will be GPUs with much better performance knocking around.

I would go for seasonic over corsair as my ax1200 had to be rma'd 3 times, first for blowing up and the other two made high pitch noise under load.

That's not good - I only hear good things about Corsair products really, maybe you just happened to get 3 from a faulty batch. Still, I'm open to suggestions of other high end PSUs.

in 18 months, 650 watt corsair modular, replaced, died after 5 days (got refund)
750w modular corsair, lasted 4 months, got replaced.
replacement going back on pay day. very expensive to send psu to holland :(
i thought they was the best as well , good reviews, 7 year warranty ect.
maybe just my luck, but no more corsair for me.
have read some good reviews on the Seasonic psu, going with them soon.

I've had my AX850 for more than 18 months now and I haven't had 1 issue, so as far as reliability goes, I can say that I've had no problems. Or maybe that's just luck? But really, any well known branded psu will have far fewer problems than a cheaper alternative, just go for which ever appeals to you the most or the cheapest of the bunch

As far as wattage goes, I can't comment but obviously a 1200W power supply would be more future proof if you decided to go down the sli / xfire route.

Alright, I'll trust thee's judgement - plus I've heard that Seasonic PSUs are top notch - and I'll go with the Seasonic 1000w '80 Plus Platinum' Modular Power Supply, which, incidentally, is also out of stock for the time being. Hopefully should be in stock the first few weeks of June.

I`d say seasonic or XFX...

Why dont you go with 690? Same price, better performance... you can still SLI 690 in future... but it would be quad sli. Only down side to 690 is that you only get 2gb vram per gpu... which is far away from titans 6
