I'm looking to order a new PSU for my PC today but dont know which one to buy.

I've narrowed it down to two PSU's by OCZ,

OCZ ModXStream Pro 500w Silent SLI Ready ATX2 Modular Power Supply
OCZ StealthXStream 600w Silent SLI Ready ATX2 Power Supply

I do like the ModXStream Pro 500w and i do like the StealthXStream 600w but which is better? :D

I havnt bought a graphics card yet but will get one soon. It wont be a top of the range thing but perhaps a mid range one, just something decent enough to play the latest games. So i need to get a PSU that will support most graphics cards when i upgrade later on.

Any advice on which one to get?

I've just taken out my StealthXStream 600W and replaced with a BeQuiet! 850W and the noise reduction is huge. Those OCZ PSU's are good at the budget end but in my experience they are anything but silent!

The BeQuiet PSU's look good but they are a bit more than i was looking to spend on a PSU. Did you have any problems with the Stealth XStream one?

No actual probs other than the noise. It ran my rig (as per sig) fine, but I didn't want to push it too far as it's a couple of years old now, so wanted something with better protection built in too.

Because the BeQuiet! is running at very little load (compared to it's capability) it's also generating far less heat. My case temp is down a couple of degrees.

anybody consider corsair? i switched out a stealthxtreme 600w for a corsair and i can say a deffinate improvement in the acoustics dept :P
