Hi,
I was hoping for some advice for which PSU I should get for a up and coming gaming build which will also receive some moderate overclocking.
Generally the specs will be:
I5 3570k
8gb samsung green ram
3rd party cpu cooler
Couple of case fans
Nvidia 670 gpu
SSD
mATX motherboard

No optical drives

possibly another gpu in the future

I've been looking at good quality modular 650w PSU's below £100
Being quiet is important to me, so ideally it wouldn't need to use a fan at low load. I like the look of the Be Quite STRAIGHT POWER E9 CM 680W at the moment. What are other peoples ideas?

I've calculated that even with 2 GPU's it would only need around 450w, so I think a decent quality 650w would be fine. Please correct me if I am wrong though.

The Corsair Professional Series AX650 does look good though. Maybe a little out of my price range though.

In majority of cases there is very little price difference between 650 & 750 watt PSU, unit i linked above offer a little head room and are excellent PSU.

I agree it's probably worth spending a little bit more as I will be using this PSU for many years to come.
750w is probably the more sensible choice between the two Corsair Pro AX's. Still it's a lot of money to get my head around spending on a PSU.

Anyone know what the cables are like with the AX's? It's going to be a couple of months before I have saved enough money for my new build, so I might get the PSU and play around with some braiding till I can purchase everything else. Won't actually need to use many cables as I won't have optical drives and only 1 SSD as I have a NAS box for storage.

The Corsair has the longer warranty (7 Years as opposed to 5 for the Seasonic)
Corsair also deal with the RMA themselves, unsure with the Seasonic though I think the RMA is dealt with by the Vendor.
