PSUs do get less efficient with age however in this case you have two good PSUs, frankly I'd toss a coin here, it is as likely to come up trumps as random guessing from the forum. :)

AS above, there dosent seem to be anything in it going from those specs....

place your palms above each unit, and see how the natural aura affects your chi, the one that pulls your hand more strongly is the one to go for.

The hiper claims to have 48a over 2 12v rails on the 580w (which is inface only 360w on the 12v and 220w on the 5/3v). The seasonic 600w has 48a over 4 12v rails(and only 180w on the 5/3v which is all you need anyway). Which would you rather?

I wouldn't trust the serposid readings on a single rail when a similar priced one does the same on two. I doubt the hiper can really do the 48a which the seasonic does over 4 rails instead of 2 and a lot more efficiently. Plus the hiper has a lot of watts on its 5/3 to make it look like a bigger wattage psu then it is, but thats a matter.

Think get the akasa, or save for a corsair 450w which would be far better then both.

Just to double check before i buy:

I am thinking seasonic because it has warranty and appears younger. (plus it's slightly cheaper). Agree, or would you still go with Akasa knowing the model number, and it being an old model?

I've heard much more good things about Seasonic than I have about Akasa. That's not to say that Akasa are a bad make though, it's just the Seasonics are recommended by a lot more people on here

wondering why the seasonic is so cheap. Hands down the best manufacturer track record, but also the most expensive. Ive got a Seasonic M12 600w, so far runnign very quiet and cool.
