So im planning on reviving me old setup and turn it into a small file server / linux experiment / os fiddling pc but I need a power supply.

my old set up is:
e2140 oc to 3.2ghz
3.5gb 800mhz ddr2
4870 512mb
p35 neo2 fr
maybe a couple of harddrives if i decide to make it to a small file server

im currently looking at ocz corextream 500w in this week only but I cant find any reviews at all and this thread http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18400093&highlight=ocz+corexstream have mixed opinions lol

as this is only a learning pc I want to make it as cheap as possible and wont explode at the same time :D

thanks

cheers for the reassurance!

is their power swap warranty just a fancy name or its different to the standard warranty ?

Basically it's just a guarantee that they would replace the fault product with a new one for the first 3 years, rather than attempt to repair it and/or send a refurbished unit back to you.

Found an fair dated post from one of the OCZ rep:
http://forums.us.ncix.com/forums/?mode=showthread&forum=116&threadid=1169941&pagenumber=1&subpage=1
"Powerswap means that we send you a brand new PSU, not fix the one you have for the first 3 years of ownership (hence the swap part of the name comes into play). After the initial 3 years any problems with the PSU and it will have to be returned for service and repaired."

As for rma, the owner would be responsible for the deliver cost of sending the faulty product back to OCZ, whereas OCZ would send the replacement to the owner with no delivery charge.
