Which PSU?

Hi guys

Really need some help, im stuck deciding what PSU to go for.

Basically im upgrading my system and want to go with the i7 4770k and 2x 780ti graphics cards.

I have been on the Asus Psu Calculator and it told me I would need a PSU with a minimum of 1150w.

I was shocked it was so high so I went on the Thermaltake PSU calculator and I told me I would need a 700w PSU.

These are miles apart from each other so I went looking for a PSU in the middle and came up with the Corsair AX860i.

Is this PSU ok for my needs? I would like to overclock the i7 and both cards at some point.

Are you going to use a Gigabyte OC board? if so the AX760i and AX860i dont work with it (the non i are fine).

I was looking to get the Haswell version of the MSI Z77 Mpower so I didn't have to change my RAM or case fans

Edit, you mean the Z87 Mpower? as the Z77 chipset is not compatible with haswell.

Hi Stulid

Yeah i ment the Z87 im currently using the Z77 Mpower board. I have the Avexir Mpower ram and a case full of Akasa venom fans so i thought sticking with MSI's yellow and black theme would save me the money and hassle of changing the ram and fans over.

Just to clarify, i wont need anything near the 1150w that Asus recommended and around 850w will be fine?

Another reason why i liked the AX860i is that you can buy pre-braided cables off the shelf. Is the a big advantage between the "i" and the normal version?

PSU calculators always exaggerate (probably accounting for rubbish PSU's that cant deliver their rated power).

GeForce GTX 780 Ti 2-way SLI - On your average system the cards require you to have a 800 Watt power supply unit as minimum.
