Which PSU

I went through a XFX 750W and a XFX 850W (both modular Gold rated) and a AXCorsair 760W Platinum rated power supply. All had horrific coil whine with the corsair being particually annoying with the pitch changing depending on if you scrolled up or down.

After reading up I went with a Be Quiet modular gold rated supply and no coil whine at all. The XFX and Corsair may of had a setting where the fan would start if under 50% load, but the electrical noise was terrible.

Be quiet is almost silent and the tradeoff was well worth it.

Not saying you'll notice or even get a PSU with coil whine if you get a Seasonic derived model, but German efficiency solved my problem.

I vote Be Quiet, but I'm biased, just like anyone else's suggestions.

I'm very tempted by the Be Quiet. I had a 1000W power supply some time ago but couldn't use it because of the coil whine. If there is any coil whine it drives me nuts. I had read the Be Quiet had very little if any coil whine so that's why I find it quite tempting. I guess you get what you pay for.

I just got my new motherboard and it recommended 1000W for running dual cards so I just want to be sure before I order a power supply. I'm hoping to run and i7 4930k and two R9 290X.
