Which quad core intel

Hi guys, I currently have a qx6700 overclocked to 3.2 ghz as in my signature and I was wondering if I was to upgrade my cpu on skt 775 which would be the best to go for? Im running the asus striker 2 formula board on ddr2 ram and 780i chipset.

no need to upgrade really but if you were i would get a q9650.

As said, no real need to upgrade, perhaps try to clock your current cpu a bit further, but if you just fancy trying a new cpu, id suggest the q9550, cheaper than the q9650 and still capable of good overclocks.

with the qx6700, you would be doing yourself a disservice by upgrading to a 45nm chip. The price is pretty high and your current setup should have very similar performance. I suggest putting the money you would have spent aside for a larger upgrade later (possibly i7, or new AMD chips).

Thanks for all the replys guys, I will stay as I am for now then and look at upgrading later. I will read up a bit more on some more extreme overclocking of this chip and give it a bash. Cheers
