Hi

Been thinking about this a little while now and i have been needing to get a 2Gb dual matching memory kit for some time now.

I can't decide whether to go for ..

Corsair :
Corsair 2GB DDR XMS4000PT TwinX
Corsair 2GB DDR XMS3500LL Pro TwinX

Mushkin
Mushkin 2GB DDR XP4000 Redline Extreme Performance Dual Channel

Geil
GeIL 2GB (2x1GB) PC3200 Value Dual Channel Kit CAS3

OCZ
OCZ 2GB (2 x 1GB) PC4000 Dual Channel Gold
OCZ 2GB (2 x 1GB) PC4000 Dual Channel Platinum Series EB-DDR CAS3

I know there been quite a selection there but can anyone please advise which one and more importantly why? Really looking for a type of memory where is good value for money, decent quality and most suited for my spec that would hopefully make things easier to o''c my Opty :D. I would be playing games most of the time :D

My personal opinion or preference so far is either the Mushkin or Corsair 2GB DDR XMS4000PT. They should have a pretty decent performance ? Heard some wicked comments about the Corsair 2GB DDR XMS3500LL Pro TwinX. Decisions....decisions.

Many Thanks

Kyo

thanks jimbo that makes a lot of sense and great advise too. Geil seems to be right down that avenue. Take it if i wanted to spend a little more then Mushkin or perhaps some kind of OCZ (not sure gold or plat) would be better suited? Talk about greed now i got my eye on the G.skill HZ4000 as well. Hehe

Definitely keep us updated mate be intrested if better quality ram would squeeze that extra bit of performance out of your setup.

Right i think i have decided to spend that little extra on ram.

Was going to go for the Geil value 2Gb but one of my friends commented that he recently got the

OCZ 2GB (2 x 1GB) PC4000 Dual Channel Gold GX XTC pair which is fairly decent. Not sure if this works well for my setup but i was was concerned about the timings as i was thinking it should help o'c my rig that bit easier as well as it meant to be pretty decent RAM? . Anyone had any experience with this specific type of ram and is it as good as it made out? Did do a search on the forums but couldn't find anyhting specific on the gold edition.

Cheers
