which ram for laptop?

hi my friend sent round his laptop for me to have a look at because it wasnt turning on it turn out that he had a faulty ram stick so im going to replace it for him the stick that i took out of it is a elpida 4gb 1rx8 pc3-12800s-11-12-b4 but i cant seem to find it online anywhere.

so is there another ram that i can match it with without having to buy 2 new 4gb ram sticks? the laptop is a hp pavillion model number g6 2291sa

It doesn't have to the exact same item, same spec is fine. Generic DDR3 1600MHz from a big memory manufacturer will be fine.

so am i right in thinking it just needs to be ddr3 and 1.35v? or is there something else i need to make sure matchs?

the timings all seem to be c11

Probably 1.5V. The newer 1.35V stuff is usually marked up as DDR3L.

is there a way for me to check the voltage? cant see it in the bios like on my pc
