Bought my first Mac today, a Mac Mini which uses PC3-8500 ram and can take 16gb if need be.

I am presuming it has 2 x 1gig sticks. The Mini is model: A1347.

What ram would you recommend as i want to put 4gig in for now or should i put 8gig in?

Also, it is having issues recognising my Advent keyboard plus the @ sign is not where it should be. Should i just buy an Apple keyboard? If so, which one? Thanks

The max you can get is 8gig 2 x4gig sticks, best thing to do is to buy as much as you can right now :p

The keyboard should be configurable, system preferences on the top left after pressing the apple button should have keyboard setting to change where it is for you...

That or buy a nice keyboard from apple ;)

If you can afford 8GB now, go for 8GB. As RAM technology gets older, it gets more expensive (typically), as there is less demand for it.

An ofc make sure you are in the Mac memory section, just on the off chance that the memory selector doesn't come up correctly.. I've had this with a couple of Mac models.
