Which RAM is faster in reality?

In real world applications (gaming and such like) you won't notice a difference.

I have 16GB of the 2400 Trident X stuff on it's way tomorrow as it's meant to be fantastic ram
 
My understanding is that RAM speed and timings above the default don't make a useable amount of difference (other than benchmarking), bang for buck your better to spend your money on other limiting factors, cpu, gpu, ssd perhaps...unless money is no object for you.
