Hello.

After a lot of trial and error, I have found out that one of my ram modules has failed.
Link to original spec....(minus ram) made a change before purchase

Current ram is this.. http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MY-224-OC&groupid=701&catid=8&subcat=1516

Idea is to buy a new matched pair 2x2gb. Don't think my dad requires anymore than this.
Price has obviously tumbled since I purchased the system. So is it worth going for some slightly quicker stuff.
Currently running ddr3 10666 (1333mhz)
Is it worth going for ddr3 1440?
Budget around 30 quid.

Thanks

That's the plan mate. But in the meantime I will get a new set and once rma'd can either keep for spares or put it on eBay.

I didn't realise you have to change the speed in the bios settings for it to run at its rated speed. Is that Kingston one you posted good? Is it compatible with the board?

Thanks

In the process of an RMA with my exisiting faulty ram.
With it being dual channel I have to send off both sticks to be looked at. Leaving me with no ram.

Therefore i need to purchase some before sending it away.
OCZ no longer stock my ram, so its been confirmed that once tested funds will be wired to my account for around 24.00 (current market value)

As im replacing it makes sense to move from 1333mhz to 16000mhz

Heres a picture of the QVL for my board.

Uploaded with ImageShack.us
None of the 1600mhz codes match the QVL (I suppose its outdated now)
Therefore which memory should i choose that will be compatible, for around the same money 24.00 (2x 2gb)

Thanks

I ordered the above and came to install this morning.
tried the memory in A1 and A2 and B1 and B2, no signal to monitor and no beep on startup. tried each of the slots by themselves in all four slots and still no signal to monitor.

Put old memory in each of the 4 ram slots and it worked in all four.

Does that mean that the ram i have bought is not compatible?

Im ruling out that theres something wrong with the ram slots on the mobo as the old ram works in all four slots.

Do i need to change any settings for it to accept this slightly quicker 1600mhz ram?
Thanks
