which RAM slots do i use

hi guys just in the middle of building my new pc but im not sure which ram slots i should plug my ram into, ive got a asus p6x58d-e and 6 gb triple channel ram, do i use the blue slots or the black slots??

Youll need to install the ram in the blue slots.

Sorry I sound severely dumb, but I thought it didn't matter what slot it goes in? If so, that explains a lot 0.o

Some boards require the correct slots occupied before allowing the system to fully boot, my Gigabyte UD5 is one of them.

Same here RJC. On my p6t dlx v2, when i first assembled the system i had the ram in the wrong slots, met with a blank screen on first boot, quick check of the manual and soon got it sorted. Typical blokes, "who needs instruction manuals".
