Lad is looking to upgrade the RAM on his system, but i am a bit clueless!

His system currently has:

8 GB
  • Amount: 8 GB
  • Speed: PC4-17000 MB/s
  • Type: DDR4-2133
And it says:

  • Dual channel (one DIMM per channel) memory architecture
  • Two DDR4 UDIMM (288-pin) sockets
  • Supports PC4-17000 (DDR4-2133)
  • Supports 4 GB and 8 GB UDIMMs

  • NOTE:
  • Supports up to 16 GB (unbuffered) on 64-bit computers
    NOTE:
Maximum memory shown reflects the capability of the hardware and can be limited further in the operating system.

I can see there are 2 x RAM slots, 1 has the 8gb stick and the other slot is empty.

What 8gb stick is compatible please? (all my searches seem to point me to Corsair ValueSelect)

If it is value select then you would need this

My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £98.69 (includes shipping: £8.70)

Vastly over priced and not worth it in any way. Without knowing more about your system I will just recommend this

My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £68.69 (includes shipping: £8.70)

Good value for the money and can be downclocked to tighter timings if your chip cant run 3600 or this cheaper 3200mhz ram.

My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £62.69 (includes shipping: £8.70)

This is the one that's in:

and his system is an Omen by HP Intel i5 8GB 1TB 128GB SSD GTX1060.

I am happy to get either of the bottom 2 you recommended, which one would be your preference?

(thanks for you help)

This ^^^^

If you can find it for that price. Cant link on here as its OC website and competitors pricing is not allowed (as you would expect)
