Need 4 Gig of new stuff ~ £85 to spend, after my Crucial (again) screwed up.

Seen these:

OCZ 4GB (2x2GB) PC2-8000C5 1000MHz ReaperX HPC Enhanced Bandwidth Edition Dual Channel DDR2 (OCZ2RPX10004GK) - £82

and

OCZ 4GB (2x2GB) PC2-8500C5 1066MHz Reaper HPC Edition Dual Channel DDR2 (OCZ2RPR10664GK) - £88

Which is better?

Copy paste from another post I made.

QUOTED :

"The above Reaper heatpipes do next to nothing, the heatpipe is only touching the Alu Spreader so get little heat.

The newer Reaper X has the Heatpipes touching the actual Memory Chips."

So the Reaper X is slower and may or may not clock to same as the 1066mhz can clock.

It should run cooler as of above reason.

It will probably not fit your Mobo if you ever wanted to use 4 Modules.

The Heatpipes work great, before after a hour on BioShock and around the general Vista x64 environment my old ram would be extremely hot, with the Reaper HPC's they are only aired, excellent cooling.

they are basically the same, dont get reaper X because the heatpipes are annoying, the normal reaper is good, and thats what i am using..

shouldnt need more than good 6400 for overclocking a Q6600 unless you really plan to push past 3.6ghz and even then good 6400 will cope
