Hi,

I'm looking for a reasonably priced steering wheel for christmas, my sister wants to get me one (so ideal ;) )

I'm talking around £50ish, I know its not going to get me the greatest.... I used a logitech one a while back at a friends and you could feel the rear end going through the wheel and bring it back (if that makes any sense) - Would the following one do the same?

Logitech Formula Force EX Wheel

Thanks for any advice :)

Do they give the feedback that I was talking about though? My friend has got this one "Logitech Formula Vibration Feedback Wheel" and I found it to give none of that. I guess that you could work out it wouldn't have the power available to do such things when its only USB powered.

That vibration one is not force feedback, it just vibrates I think, like a gamepad might.

The DFP should give the effect you are after, depending on the game / sim you play though - they are not all coded the same.

Most modern force feedback whees use motored cogs for the forces, older wheels used belts, which gave a slightly smoother effect. Oh, and they have power supplies, the ff wheels need much more power than USB could provide.

Really though, for the price (about £60) the DFP is your best bet. Pedals are a bit iffy, but the wheel makes up for it. It's has an optical sensor, no pot to go bad, and steel bearings. Plus it turns two and a half times lock to lock.
