Which remote for 350D?

To be honest, I'd suggest the wired remote, if you're planning to do long exposures. The remote will allow you to keep the shutter open for as long as you want on bulb mode, as the button can be locked down.

I think that the infrared remotes can only be used when pointed at the front of the camera and are hence more aimed at those who want to take shots with themselves in, ie group photos.

sounds reasonable, ill get the wired remote then ! cheers :)

The IR sensor is on the front of the 300D so it's a pain in the **** to use , I wish I'd got a wired one :(

You can make your own for less than £10....

I use the wired one! Worth every penny, until it got caught in the tripod leg and chopped it in half! Now its not worth quite so much :) Still works though, but now comes with a mass of selotape too!

I use the IR remote, custom built purchased from compnay I found on eblah.
very handy and can be used for longer exposure, instant and 2s delay buttons on it and longer range than the canon one.
however, for macro shots and tripod based stuff the wired one will be more accurate, esp if you can't get in front of the camera easily.
also the sensor is mounted on the right of the camera, so you need to be on the left of the group to use the remote...esp if you have a large lens on the front
