Which Resolution on a Dell M1530?

I'd recommend going for the middle option of 1440x900, a nice balance of desktop space and keeping framerates up in native res on demanding games.

I have the Dell 1721 with a screen resolution of 1440 x 900.... which ordinarily I would say is pants...... but it has the "truelife" layer on which gives a sharper image and gives cleaner edges. It also disapointingly, reflects more light.

However I think they have taken the "truelife" option off as they could not keep up with demand. Cost me an extra £20 as apose to the extra £120 for the next resolution up screen!

Has anyone got a dell with the 15.4" 1920 x 1200 screen ? I am really tempted to go for this, but just wondering if it is actually useable, or do you end up scaling everything bigger anyways ?

Think you would be mental and bonkers to want 1920 x 1200 on a 15" display. Do you have any experience with high res on such a small screen?

I have 1600 x 1050 on a 15" laptop, and to be honest it gets on my nerves. I also have 1600 x 1050 on a 22" TFT which is very comfortable and nice.

Why are you tempted with such a high res on such a small screen area?

How have all you manged to order the xps with a 1680 x 1050 screen - i cant seem to find any option for it on the dell website?

For some mental reason last Thursday they changed a lot of the options for the M1530.. they took away all the options for displays panels on the low-end/mid-end M1530's. I read on notebook review forum that you now need to spend over £1K on the M1530 before options for display panels become available! http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=214190

I was lucky to get my order in just two days before all this change.

Cool. Sounds Good! In web browsing is text hard to read on a 15.4" 1680x1050?

Its fine, but i have changed to large fonts, as its just a little little bit on the small size.

These 8600GT ddr3's clock like buggery, im getting over 4500 3dmarks now, im at 650 on the core, which is a huge boost, ive ended up with 1000 more 3dmarks than default, and it makes a difference. Theres probably still more to go, but having a smooth 60 at 1680x1050 on wow is great.
