Hi all,

I'm on the 80mb sky fibre package and would like to replace the rubbish sky router with something much better.

The new router must be able to NAT DNS requests from one DNS server to another (ie: any DNS request bound for say Googles DNS must get rerouted to another DNS server).

I'm told the ASUS ones can do this with stock firmware, but they tend to be expensive. The TP-Link ones look good but guess I may have to flash with DD-WRT (assume I'll need DD-WRT anyway due to having to clone the Sky routers MAC)

Thanks!!

If you're heading down the DD-WRT route, which is probably a very good idea since its powerful and compact, have a look at the compatibility charts.

I picked up a Cisco reconditioned Linksys E1000 v2 from the bay for about £12 when I got Sky Fibre Pro about 6 months ago. Flashed it with DD-WRT and its been rock stable since giving me full throughput.

Its IPTables underneath and so you can choose between the CLI as well as the Web interface

That's brilliant, thanks!!

I didn't want to spend much more than about £40

Just been looking at TP-Links, are they any good?
