Which Router?

Hi, I'm in the market for a router upgrade because the wifi just isn't good enough anymore and figured i'd rather upgrade the router than buy a repeater.

I'm looking at the following two

I want good wireless coverage, I play CS so would like low latency and I also do mess around with security settings. I would like to future proof myself for a few years.

ISP - Virgin Media 50Mb Cable, so it has to go through a super hub first :'(

Is this too much to spend for what i need?
Will these make a difference compared to cheaper routers?
are there better routers out there?
etc..

any advice is welcome.

RT-N66U with Merlin's firmware (or stock is good) is normally fine for most. It's what I run, very happy with it.

The non DSL version of the AC68U is good with merlin firmware too (if you want USB 3)
