Hi guys, I want one that I can choose my 'class'. I am really considering Tales of Vasperia as I have avoided it as it's not my normal RPG playstyle (JRPG). The only thing stopping me is the fact it looks as though you can only play as one dude which weilds a sword 99% of the time. I am purely judging based upon youtube vids.

RPG's I have played so far in no order on the 360:

Oblivion
Fable II & III
FF XIII
Fallout 3
Fallout New Vegas
Borderlands
Mass Effect 1 & 2
Dragon Age Origins & II

Think that's it, cba walking to my game stack as I am pure lazy right now...

Actually on Tales of Vesperia you can switch which character you play as just by putting them at the front of the team in the team selection menu. In other words feel free to be the dog, the archer, the mage, the spear user etc. HIGHLY recommend the game.

This guy playing as the spear user Judith shows it too.

My girlfriend loves Repeede (the dog) so plays as him even though it's ridiculously hard to fight airborn units then (I think it is anyway, not played as Repeede myself).

How good we talking? I really enjoyed FFXIII, however when I got to that midway point where you are in open fields, I started to grind and eventually got bored...

Will I enjoy this coming from fairly western RPG's?

I've heard that that Two worlds 2 is supposed to be ok. Waiting for skyrim and dark soul myself (I actually bought a ps3 for demon soul) If you liked oblivion you could find a 2nd hand version of morrowind from the original xbox for next to nowt.

I am counting the seconds till Skyrim, Two worlds 2... I have heard good, and some really bad things.

As for Brink... Hmmmmm

RPG

I loved Risen and Two Worlds 1 but maybe I'm just weird as everyone else seems to hate them.

I liked TW so much I bought it for xbox and PC - if you can get the PC version.

Keep an eye on Steam as the Gothic pack has been on offer for as little as £15 and offers many hours of fun.

If you also have a PS3 try Demon Souls.

Sacred 2 is good if you like Diablo style RPG's and is relatively cheap now - try Amazon 2nd hand.

Going to give Divinity II: The Dragon Knight Saga a shot, don't think I will have the patience for a JRPG right now. Have read some reviews and it seems DII:TDKS has a average higher score than TWII... On that basis, I am off to town to hunt down a new game :D

i Really enjoyed Two Worlds, i havent seen Two Worlds 2 in stores yet is it out ?

It is out, just seen it in the purple nurple. Bit over priced, so where all the other games above, Divinity II @ 25 squid. Gave it a miss, will try find it cheaper.

A list of games I have yet to complete and why I haven't yet done so lol.

Mortal Kombat - Just got it
Torchlight - Bored after several hours
Crysis 2 - Repetative
AC BRotherhood - Not as gripping as I and II
OF: Red River - Waste of money
Shift 2 Unleashed - Car handling dodgy
Fable III - near the end...
Marvel vs Capcom 3 - It's a fighting game
SSF IV - its a fighting game
Borderlands - soooo boring at points
Homefront - god awful
Dragon Age 2 - 1 level, cycled through like a old rag...
FA: New Vegas - not gripping
Dirt 2 - so close, but the races are all the same!
Dead Space 2 - need to get round to this
Dragon Age: Origins - on the very last leg, just never got round to it
Vanquish - too fast paced
Medal of Honor - not a chance
Enslaved - fun for the first 2 hours
Dead Rising 2 - awful... not what I was expecting
Singularity - fun, but just couldn't put my finger on why i didn't like it???
Bayonetta - AWSOME! but gone off it from playing too much of it
GTA IV - again, awsome but so much to do
Just Cuase 2 - boring...
FF XIII - liked the first 10 or so hours, but then got bored
Overlord 2 - fun, but nothing to take seriously
Fallout 3 - not as gripping as oblivion
Devil May Cry 4 - good, but not that good

Tales of Vesperia is by far one of the best games I have ever played. A really in-depth story, impressive voice acting, hours upon hours of gameplay. I got to a part in the game and it was a climactic point in the story, I was convinced it was the end and I would have been sad if it was. Then I found out I was only about half way through! lol

You can play as all the characters just by switching the party up a little bit and you get a good range as a poster previously mentioned, swords, axes, hammers, mage spells, spears, etc. Highly recommend this game. I am at the last part and keep putting off completing it because I like it so much, don't want it to end. Haha

I really wanted to like Tales of Vesperia, and I remember waiting for what seemed like Years for the UK 360 version. When I finally bought it, I just couldn't get along with the battle system as I prefer Turn-based and TOV just seemed a bit too frantic. Might try again though seeing as it is available to buy on Live.
