Which Sandy Bridge Cooler?

Really not sure what cooler to choose for my 2500K Sandy Bridge purchase.

I have a Cooler Master Elite 355 case. The case isn't massive but a Scythe Ninja fits inside it with a couple of centimetres to spare.

Not wanting to spend a fortune on one but want a decent one.

It is but I am not sure of the version I have.

I bought it about 4 years ago.. it is sitting ontop of a 755 E6300 Conroe.

Will it fit a socket 1155?

Steve I was trying to find a Retention Kit for it.. and only one I can find for your cooler is

and does not support the new cpus..

So time for a new cooler unless someone knows of a Retention Kit that will work with it.


Also the one you have what size fan does it have on it ?

It has a large fan looks to be over 120mm.

Shame, looks like I will have to purchase a new cooler then.

Any suggestions on what one to choose?

Have the same case as you, the Elite 335, running an Akasa Freedom Tower. It just about fit, I'm talking about millimetres here. Cheap though.

The Akasa Freedom Tower has a height of 16cm, I wouldn't go for anything taller.

I just finished setting up my SB rig with a Venomous X Black (Thermalright) with 2x Xigmatek XLF fans.

The fans are all Xigmatek XLF 120mm. Great cooler without being ridiculous size/weight.

P.s I have no good camera!

would all be good budget choices, the best cooler for around £40 is the cogage arrow but it's big.
