Hey guys, just wondering if people had any opinions? Looking for one for my Dad;

Looking around halfrauds we found TomTom Start 60 Sat Nav - UK, ROI & Full Europe for £139.99 and TomTom Start 25 Special Edition Sat Nav - UK, ROI & Western Europe £129.99.

What are people using nowadays? Are TomTom still a trusted goto brand? or are Garmin more rated nowadays?

Thanks!

We got a TomTom from Hellfrauds a few years back with HD Traffic, UK ROI & Western Europe, etc etc.

The HD Traffic we have found to be fantastic. It's absolutely brilliant for remapping your route on the go as traffic conditions change.

personally swear by nav free on my phone.

its a free app and its just as good if not better than offerings from Tomtom Auriga and garmin. - use mine everyday- Taxi driver up in Jockland

Only worth paying for a satnav (standalone or phone app) if you wasn't fairly detailed live traffic etc. Navfree, google etc are very good. Navigon or Tomtom are the best paid apps IMO.

Of I was buying now I'd get either a Tomtom live unit or tomtom IPhone app. Tomtom is soused to launch on Android in the next month.

Navfree doesn't have safety camera alerts which is my only major gripe.
Using Co pilot now and it is very good.

If you want a Tom Tom, look on hot UK deals for the Tesco voucher code.
They are doing £20 off so I am told.

Thanks guys.

I use the TomTom app on my iPhone & find it perfect for my needs, but he wants a standalone unit and currently (See other post I made in Mobile Phones!) Doesn't have a a smartphone!
