after about 10 years or more my old Mustek scanner has died.

as i have no idea at all what is what can anybody recommend a decent enough one?

i do not want an all in one scanner/printer/copier etc

all i want is a stand alone flatbed scanner. preferably looking at no more than £100.

not used very often and when used, only usually for photos but is used in conjunction with Corel a lot.

thanks

I expect most people use a printer combo and then professionals will have expensive flat beds. Also people might not of read it yet, it's only been on for a few hours.

The only problem I have with the Lide scanners, is that because they are USB powered they can be a little picky about what they will work with (I've got a lide 35 here, and out of my 3 systems + about 4 powered USB hubs it only really works with the USB hub built into my monitor).

Out of the budget range, but I find the Canon 8800F works a treat :)

I've got a lide 600f that works off everything i've plugged it in to. It could just be the power requirements of the 35 being close to the limit upsetting some chipsets maybe? dunno lol.

What i do know is i cant fault the lide flatbed scanners, or canon in general, they are quiet and reasonably quick, but its the image quality they come up trumps with :)

point taken. it's just that this forum is usually instant for everything and i was a little surprised at no reply when i posted again.

as for the replies, thanks a lot everybody, i will take a look at how much over budget they are. as i don't use them every day i can't really justify a large cost but if that is what it takes to get one then so be it.
