Howdy, my new 32" HDTV arrived yesterday and you can now easily notice the distortion/fuzzyness on the TV when the DVD player is plugged in using my SCART Cable from a pound shop! I've been looking about and have seen SCART cables ranging from £1-£20. Do you really get a far better picture the more you pay for a cable? I read on the sticky that you should really be looking for gold coated plugs. Any suggestions would be appreciated as I'm hoping to head into town a pick a decent cable up.

Thanks.

Does your DVD and TV have component video connections?

These are round phono plugs. Usually coloured red, green and blue.

Just ordered one of the Samsung CRT HDTVs and have a feeling the scart lead that came with my SKY box 4 years ago wont exactly be of the best quality so wondering the same myself.

Up until recently I was using a £20 Vivanco gold plated Scart cable, a fairly chunky item that I thought gave a nice picture. I stumbled onto a QED Silver Referance Scart lead on a well known aution site, ended up winning it for £12, its a £60 cable.

Couldnt believe the differance, such a sharper, clearer picture.
