Hi all, quick question, want to look at setting up VPN access at work so marketing and management can use their laptops from home as if they are still on the network.

We've got a number of servers but I'm just wondering if the VPN role needs to go on any server specifically or can it go on any?

The choice of servers I've got are....

Domain Controller (DNS/DHCP etc)
App Server (SQL)
Exchange (2010)
Remote Desktop Servers (RDS GW)
File Server
BlackBerry Server
Sharepoint Server

Ooooorrrrr - would I be best creating a new box for the VPN (would rather not have to do that if i'm being honest) or can I pop the role on one of the above? If so, which would be best?

It is basically so we can access documents on our shared drive/home drive and intranet from home.

We currently have an RDS server with the web gateway on but I don't particularly like working via RDP or LogMeIn etc, I'd rather work directly on my desktop hence why I was thinking a VPN would be the best way to go.

It will primarily just be for 3 marketing staff and the management (6) will be able to use it if they want. Won't be accessible for anyone else.

Budget is pretty much nil (we're a charity) - I can spin up a new server with 2008 R2 on for free though so basically just costs my time in setting it up if it can be done with all native windows stuff!
